How Does It Work

KenWave Technology represents the latest development in dynamic response leak detection, a trusted technology with a 60-year track record. Leak-generated noises propagate through the liquid inside a pipe at characteristic speeds. Leak noise is measured by pairs of special transducers. When leak noises originate between the sensors, the location of the leak is proportional to the difference in signal arrival times measured at the sensors.

KenWave Technology incorporates accuracy enhancing refinements not found in conventional systems. For one, the true characteristic propagation speed is verified by direct measurement. Further improvements are achieved through advanced signal processing that enhances leak sounds and suppresses extraneous environmental noise such as vehicular traffic. Finally, phase distortions induced by propagation effects are removed.
